Here is a small children book I worked on for UNICEF.
The subject was violence against children.
The story tells about Tim, a small shy bear, who doesn't want to let people know about his problem.
So when a friend discovers his bruises, he pretends he is a bear-snow leopard (for the book is for Central Asian audience, we specially used local characters). Later the friend gets a bruise too when he plays soccer and asks his teacher if he'll be a bear-snow leopard like Tim. The teacher understands what's going on and convince Tim to tell about his problem.
I had just 2 days and one long night to make this story (I hope I'll be forgiven for the Comics Sans MS...) but I was lucky to be helped by a great professional from Sesame Street who edited the text.
